My Story
I have always loved writing. I love to create and relate a good story. Whether it was a written presentation for family or friends to read, or telling a bedtime story to my kids, I always enjoyed their reactions to my stories.
I composed poetry, short stories, and even some songs. I even delved into screenwriting during the years that I managed movie theatre complexes. One of my screenplays, a haunted house story, even was pitched to a major Hollywood studio in 2003. Of all my writings though, “ELT The Super Dog” was my favorite fictional piece of writing.
When I was ten years-old, I wrote a story based on our family dog “Trixie.” She was a super dog. Trixie was fast, strong, and could leap very high to fetch her toy. My Dad had brought home these little green notebooks from his work, and I used them to write and illustrate a story about a boy and his super dog, Elt. I even started additional adventures, but never finished those stories.
In 2010, I decided to re-write the story and present it as a children’s novel. The project was completed in 2013 and my first published novel even made it to the bookshelves at our local Barnes and Noble Bookseller. I followed the original story with three sequels and am currently working on a prequel titled "Drexel's Discovery : The Origin Of ELT The Super Dog."
I think the most enjoyable feeling I receive from writing these stories and other writings is the reaction from family, friends, and readers of all ages who review my works. I have been able to talk to young writers in schools, book signings, and even judged a local creating writing contest. I have always loved writing and telling a good story.
